New Shipment of Beads!
Beads of Hope
"These beads are made by beautiful Ugandan women who were formerly abducted by a rebel group called Lord's Resistance Army. They were child mothers, forced to carry guns while living on the run in the bush of Uganda. Lucy was abducted at 12 years old, and given to a 24 year old man. She became pregnant when she was only 13 years old. Determined to escape, even if it meant being killed, she eventually did, but on returning home found that she was not accepted by her family nor by the community because of her association with the rebels. Lucy has become a one-woman rescue operation, taking in other rejected women who have escaped from a life of sexual slavery and violence. Her group which they call Beads of Hope, meets every day when their children are in school, learning the parenting and other skills they missed out on when their own childhood was stolen. Lucy says "We are not educated but we want our children to go to school."'

These beads are so amazing. They come in all shapes and sizes.

AND come in every color of the rainbow.

We like to group them together.

A perfect and meaningful gift for mother's day. We have longer ones with smaller beads as well. There are so many varieties you won't believe it. Come by.
